Terms of Use

These conditions govern access to Summit County Criminal History. Visiting a page, reading its content, or submitting a search means you accept all terms below. If you disagree with any condition, stop using the website.

NO FCRA USE. This privately operated website has no connection to a government body. Neither it nor its advertising partners provides a service intended for credit, employment, insurance, tenant, or other decisions governed by the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA). The site identifies criminal-record resources in Summit County, Colorado. It is neither a private investigation firm nor a consumer reporting agency.

1. What This Website Is

This is a private reference site with no government affiliation. It does not keep official records, retrieve them, conduct official checks, or submit documents for a user.

Its purpose is to route readers to Summit County custodians, including the Sheriff's Office, Combined Courts and municipal courts, the Colorado Bureau of Investigation, and the Colorado Sex Offender Registry, as well as outside tools that may assist personal research.

2. Rules for Using This Site

By using the site, you agree not to:

  • Use the site in violation of federal, Colorado, or local law
  • Threaten, stalk, or harass anyone with information found here
  • Use site content for hiring, housing, credit, or insurance decisions
  • Try to break into our systems or gain access you are not supposed to have
  • Run bots, scrapers, or automated tools against our pages
  • Do anything that slows the site down or blocks other people from using it

3. No Harassment, Stalking, or Discrimination

You may not use information from this website or a linked tool to intimidate, threaten, discriminate against, stalk, or harass anyone. Colorado law places special restrictions on Colorado Sex Offender Registry data. Under C.R.S. § 18-9-310.5 and § 16-22-110(6), false statements used to obtain protected information and certain misuse can lead to criminal penalties. Registry access supports lawful public-safety awareness, not retaliation, vigilantism, or discrimination.

4. We Are Not a Consumer Reporting Agency

We are not a consumer reporting agency under the FCRA. We do not generate background checks, credit reports, or consumer reports of any kind. Neither we nor our advertising partners provide services built for screening job applicants, reviewing rental applications, calculating insurance rates, or judging creditworthiness. You agree not to use data from this site or any linked tool to:

  • Decide whether to hire or fire someone
  • Screen potential renters or housing applicants
  • Judge creditworthiness or set insurance premiums
  • Determine who qualifies for licenses, permits, or government programs
  • Do anything else that falls under FCRA rules

If a regulated purpose requires a check, use the appropriate official Colorado Bureau of Investigation channel or a provider that complies with the FCRA.

5. No Legal Advice

Site content is not legal advice. General Summit County record information cannot determine how a charge, conviction, warrant, adult sealing rule, or juvenile expungement rule affects a particular case. Consult a licensed Colorado attorney for legal advice.

6. No Warranties

All content and functions are supplied "as is." We make no promise that:

  • The information here is accurate, complete, or current at any given time
  • The site will stay up and running without interruptions
  • Our pages are free of errors, bugs, or security holes
  • Results from our partner search tools will be thorough or accurate

Criminal records change as charges are filed, dismissed, sealed, or expunged. Updates and omissions are unavoidable. No site content is an official statement from the Summit County Sheriff, a court, CBI, or another government office.

7. Third-Party Services and Links

Links may lead to sheriff sites, court portals, Colorado agencies, legal resources, and outside search services. We do not control a destination's content, data practices, fees, or continued availability. Review its terms before using it.

8. Intellectual Property

Summit County Criminal History or its content partners own the site's text, graphics, logos, and code. You may not copy, distribute, adapt, or create derivative material from that content without prior written permission.

9. Limits on Our Liability

To the maximum extent allowed by law, we disclaim liability for damages arising from website use, including reliance on information found here or through a linked service.

10. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless against claims, demands, or legal proceedings caused by your site use or violation of these terms, including related legal fees and costs.

11. Governing Law

Colorado law governs these terms, including applicable provisions of the Colorado Consumer Protection Act, C.R.S. §§ 6-1-101 et seq. Criminal-record access described in the site content is separately governed in part by the Colorado Criminal Justice Records Act, C.R.S. §§ 24-72-301 through 24-72-309. Any dispute arising from site use must be brought in a court located in Colorado.

12. Changes to These Terms

13. Cutting Off Access

We may restrict or end access to the website at any time, for any reason, without advance notice.

14. Severability

If a court finds one provision invalid or unenforceable, all remaining provisions continue in force. The affected language will be limited only as much as necessary to make it enforceable.
